Florian | Tales of the Abyss
Florian blinked a few times to adjust his vision to the sight before him. Rising off the soft sandy ground--hm? That was…not a hand…but something soft...a paw? Even more, everything looked much taller and higher than usual, unless he had gotten shorter. He looked around, there was no one besides himself and stifled the creeping loneliness itching at the back of his mind. The brightening sun warmed his fur as he wobbled to get adjusted to his newly acquired limbs. Wading slowly over the edges of the calm waves, he peered down at the unfamiliar furry face staring back at him...it was cute and so fluffy-looking!
It didn't take long for his lonesomeness to dissipate and he grew hopeful, this was exciting! It would take some time to get used to this new body but it felt as if he'd been whisked on an adventure, a place waiting for him to make all kinds of wonderful discoveries and learn new things! Was this a reward after being closed up for so long? Florian was rather enjoying himself now, running about and circling a spot in the beach sand a few times and rushing to splash around in the water making sure not to go in too far lest get washed away yet again.

Not wanting to interrupt his fun, the pale Eevee moved to sit on a rock, stepping carefully. Learning to walk properly was taking a bit of time and was a bit like crawling actually. Once he s on the rock, he smiled and just watched the other Pokemon play.
no subject
He circled the rock, sniffing curiously at this new pokemon as if trying to determine whether it were friendly or harmful.
no subject
Curious, though this one had darker fur,, he had the same color eyes as him.
no subject
Almost like looking in a mirror, really.
His tail wagged energetically behind him as he reciprocated the smile. "It's okay, I wanted to find someone to play with, its much better than playing all by myself!"
no subject
"I suppose it would be, but did you come here because there are normally other Pokemon to play with?" he asked, curious. The beach seemed really quiet to him.

"May I ask you a couple of things first?" he asked. That was far from a no, because this Pokemon seemed really young, but his answer worried Ion, who had arrived the same day.
"What do you mean you woke up here?"
no subject
"I thought I only fell asleep but…that can't be since there wasn't any water and the ground didn't look like this before." he lifted a paw, shaking the excess off and lowering it again. What did you call this substance? It couldn't have been dirt but it hadn't been solid either.
He looked up at Ion once more, maybe this pokemon was a familiar resident of here…? But for that matter, where was here anyway? The thought lingered quietly in the back of his mind.

Had he never been to the ocean before?
no subject
"A li..brary, I think. Yes! There were lots of books everywhere! But there were so many, I was feeling tired." he excitedly tailed wagged again and met the smile equally, being much more relaxed now that he could see this pokemon didn't seem to have an intention to hurt him.

"I…it was green…my hair and eyes…" he nodded, he was positive about that much! "Yes, that was it! I got to wear a white robe as well…with stockings and something for my head, I don't remember what it was but…why do you ask?" he had no problem with how he looked now, but he was concerned if the other Eevee had a reason for asking him this.
no subject
With one paw, he held up the necklace he wore. If this person came from where he thought then... "Have you seen this shape before?" he asked.
no subject
no subject
"I have one because we come from the same place," he said, hoping that would be enough for now.
no subject
"Really? I never had the chance to meet you before. What is your name?"
no subject
"My name is Ion. What's yours?"

"Memories?" he looked up at the other. "That sounds nice. I want to have memories of my own." It was a pleasant thing to think about, even if he didn't fully know what they were. But...this meeting could be his first.

"I want to, it would make me feel very happy."

"I'm going to show you where I'm staying for now. Maybe you can stay there too."

Florian was content. He could trust this pokemon, he didn't know much more than that for now, but it was plenty better than being looked at funny the way he used to.
no subject
"Florian, do you know Anise?"
no subject
"Yes! Anise was my very first friend! I miss her. She's nice to me and we even got to play together! Have you met her as well?"
no subject
That was reassuring, knowing that Florian had had Anise. She was a good friend and wouldn't have let anything happen to him.
no subject
"Oh, I wish she were with us, then we could all play together! But its okay as long as Ion is here." He had someone to make it feel safe for him, and in turn he would do his best to do the same.
no subject
Now for the next problem...getting Florian up those cliff steps. Walking over to them, he looked back at the other Eevee.
no subject
He didn't know what Ion was thinking, which might be obvious by him tilting his head in wonder when they stopped.
"Is something wrong?"

In all his exuberance, he nodded at Ion before taking it upon himself to attempt the first step, struggling a bit to get his small paws to help him crawl up the rocky surface. But his childlike determination managed to get him onto the first step.
That was one accomplished, and now he glanced down to wait for Ion to take his turn.
